This installation is a proposal for an art gallery. The video installation is an attempt to invoke questions regarding the relevancy of “historical facts” through the de-construction of the myths of WW2.
The installation is an illumination on both the German and the Israeli myths, and the representations of them: the theatrical, cabaret-like associated with the German pole, and the memorial-like, museum-type, related to the Jewish-Israeli pole.
The main axis of my work is Hitler. I chose Hitler because he represents the single most identified symbol of WW2. More than any other figure, Hitler is the essence of all myths of WW2. The symbolism has become so prevalent, that today he is considered the representative of evil on earth.
